GDPR implications

Since 25 May 2018, organisations have been required to comply with GDPR legislation. Data logging plays an important role in remaining compliant. To demonstrate how Elasticsearch can help with this, we have developed an extensive GDPR demo.

GDPR demo

We have created a GDPR demo to show how Elasticsearch can be used for this purpose. For the demo, we are using a fictitious application containing the personal data of 3,000 customers*. There are seven employees who have access to the data. The system logs who performs which action and whose data is being accessed. The actions can include: Add, Download, Print, Update and View. The data has been logged since early 2017, and approximately 127,000 actions are logged every month. Using our web front-end, it is easy to find out what happened and when.
