Hortonworks – The platform for Big Data

When you want to analyse structured and unstructured data, it is difficult to store this data in a normal database. If it is possible at all, it often involves very large amounts of data, making it a particularly costly affair. Therefore, another way of storing data is desirable, and this is possible with Hadoop. Hadoop is not a database but a file system. This makes it possible to store all types of data, from standard database fields to unstructured emails. Hadoop is enormously scalable and works with different nodes. The moment more capacity is needed, a node can easily be added.
