Elastic 9.5 takes next step in AI, observability and security
New release focuses on greater scalability, automation and control
With Elastic 9.4, we already saw how AI, observability, and automation are converging. Elastic 9.5 builds upon this. The new release includes improvements in the areas of Search AI, Observability, and Security, with a clear common thread: helping organisations to utilise growing volumes of data more smartly and efficiently.
Handling growing volumes of data more efficiently
As organisations collect more data and retain it for longer, performance, storage and manageability are becoming increasingly important. Elastic 9.5 introduces several improvements to process and analyse large volumes of data more efficiently.
Vector search is also becoming easier to set up. This is relevant for organisations that want to use their own data for applications such as Search AI and generative AI.
AI is becoming part of daily operations
Additionally, Elastic is investing further in Agent Builder. New capabilities give organisations more insight into what AI agents are doing and make it possible to build in human approval before certain actions are carried out.
This shifts the focus from experimenting with AI to the next question: how do you deploy AI in a controlled and responsible manner within existing processes?
Greater integration within observability and security
Elastic is also taking further steps within Observability. Support for Prometheus and PromQL is now generally available, and Elastic is making it easier to bring together monitoring data from different environments.
Within Security, Elastic is focusing on a well-known problem with Alert Zero: large volumes of security alerts. By combining AI, context and automation, Elastic aims to help analysts quickly distinguish between alerts and threats that actually require attention.
From more technology to smarter use
Elastic 9.5 mainly shows that the development of the platform is not just about new functionalities. Scalability, AI, observability, security and automation are increasingly converging.
For organisations using Elastic, the key question is therefore which new features are relevant to their own environment. PuurData helps organisations to assess this and get more out of their Elastic environment.
